How to find us

We’re based on the Keele University campus, next to Keele village, two miles west of Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire.

By road

From the M6 – north or south

  • Exit at junction 15
  • At the first roundabout, turn left onto the A519 to Newcastle-under-Lyme
  • At the next roundabout, go straight on
  • At the main traffic lights, go straight on
  • At the next roundabout, go straight on
  • Stay on this road until the main roundabout, then follow signs for Keele A525

M1 – from the north or south

  • From the north, exit at junction 28 and follow signs for the A38 then A516 until you reach the A50 (Newcastle-under-Lyme)
  • From the south, exit at junction 24 and follow signs for the A50 (Newcastle-under-Lyme)
  • Before you reach the end of the A50, turn off for the A34
  • At the Black Friar pub roundabout, take the second exit onto the A53, then onto the A519
  • At the traffic lights turn onto the A525 and follow signs for Keele

By train

Stoke-on-Trent station is five miles from the University, and Crewe station is around 12 miles away.

  • Trains from London Euston to Stoke-on-Trent run approximately every 30 minutes and take around 1 ½ hours
  • Trains from London Euston to Crewe run approximately every 20 minutes and take around 1 ½ hours
  • Trains from Birmingham to Stoke-on-Trent run approximately every 30 minutes and take around an hour
  • Trains from Manchester to Stoke-on-Trent run approximately every 15 minutes and take around 45 minutes

By bus

Local buses 52 and 85 leave Crewe railway station every hour, with stops at Keele Management Centre (Keele village) and the University’s Barnes Halls of Residence, near the Medical School.

Local bus 29 leaves Stoke railway station every 15 minutes, with stops at the University’s 24-hour reception and Keele Management Centre.

By air

We’re within an hour of four international airports – Manchester, Birmingham, East Midlands and Liverpool John Lennon – so wherever in the world you are, it’s easy to reach us.
